Ever wanted to try your hand at weaving? Technically it’s way easier to use two hands (dad joke I know) but in this workshop you will get a perfect taste of weaving without having to go deep into the weaving world or your pocket.
In this class, Feb 2nd 1-4pm, I’ll be teaching you how to make your very own circular weaving using an Aussie designed and made shape loom. You’ll learn the basic stitches and a little about fibre choices and suppliers. ie why you don’t want to pull too hard on the banana but the hemp can totally be abused (gosh my weaving jokes are terrible today)
The loom we use in this class generally is not used again, your weaving will stay on the loom for display, but if you wanted to remove it and use the loom again I can definitely show you how.
Classes are held in my little cosy fibre studio, The Wheelhouse, at 410 Conadilly St. We have air con and there will be tea, coffee, home made kombucha and some slice! Perfect right?
